The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at two more schools in Windsor-Essex on Thursday.
The board is reporting one case in a student at Giles Campus French Immersion Public School on September 30th, and one more case in a student at Sandwich West Public School on September 30th. A grade 6 cohort at Sandwich West is now under an outbreak, according to the Health Unit.
Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.
The board sent letters to the Giles Campus community and the Sandwich West community.
“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.”
