The Ontario Government announced increased capital grants of $34.5 million for the Greater Essex District School Board.
Of that amount, $19.4 million will be for a new Giles Public School, $12.3 million for a new Prince Andrew School in Lasalle which will be renamed to Legacy Oak Trail Public School, and $3.7 million for new childcare spaces and resources at Essex Public School.
Giles Public School will feature 645 new elementary student spaces, 73 new child care spaces, and 4 new child care rooms.
Legacy Oak Trail Public School will feature 473 new elementary student spaces.
Essex Public School’s expansion will bring 122 new child care spaces and 7 new child care rooms.
