Arts Collective Theatre is inviting you to kick off your Sunday shoes this fall when they present Footloose at the Capitol Theatre.
Based on the 1980s hit film that took the world by storm, Footloose the musical sizzles with the same spirit of youth, rebellion and romance. City boy Ren thinks his life is over when he is forced to move to Bomont, an American rural backwater. But things are far worse than he could have ever imagined, as the town bans dancing. It isn’t long before Ren can’t resist breaking the rules, and he’s not alone.
The rock ‘n’ roll musical bursts to the stage with local talent under the age of 30 as part of the Arts Collective Theatre’s 30 Under 30 summer intensive program. This program brings together youth 30 and under to develop theatre skills, be mentored by local artists, and produce a show.
Cast members include current students, and graduates of the University of Windsor, St. Clair College, and Windsor-Essex High Schools.
Footloose runs September 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th at 8pm, and September 8th and 15th at 2pm. Tickets are $15 to $35 (plus box office fees), and are available in person at the Capitol Theatre box office, or online.
