The Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation held a ’12 Cocktails of Christmas’ holiday event Saturday evening, raising money for the foundation’s patient assistant fund.
The fund was established in 2009. Its objective is to meet the needs of financially distressed patients within their cancer program. The foundation’s policy is for all active patients of the Windsor Regional Cancer Program to receive access to financial resources resulting from diagnosis along with treatment.
Manager of The Windsor-Essex Cancer Centre Foundation, Houida Kassem said this is their first annual Twelve Cocktails of Christmas event.
The event included a tapas style menu, cocktails and a silent auction.
A patient of the Windsor Regional Cancer Program shared her story and how the fund assisted herself and family.
The 2015 Twelve Cocktails of Christmas fundraiser will be held on Nov.14th at the Ambassador Golf Club.
