Environment Canada has issued a wind chill warning for all of Windsor and Essex County as well as Chatham-Kent.
Extreme wind chills from minus 35 to minus 40 are expected tonight and Tuesday morning.
In the wake of the storm, cold brisk winds are expected to produce widespread dangerous wind chills of minus 30 to minus 35 beginning late today. Wind chills can reach minus 35 to minus 40 overnight tonight and Tuesday morning.
Extreme caution is advised for people heading outdoors. Exposed skin may freeze in less than five minutes.
It is also suggested to help prevent freezing of pipes in buildings, one could turn on the lowest tap in the house and let it run as a pencil-thin stream or fast drip while keeping indoor temperatures a little warmer at night.
Wind chills will improve slowly on Tuesday.
