If the roads are bad near where you are — there’s hope in sight.
Salting and ploughing of main routes in Windsor began Tuesday evening and ploughing of residential roads will start this morning.
The city says ploughing of residential roads will increase as more equipment is able to transfer from cleared main routes.
We’re expected to get between 2.5 – 5cm of snow today, and this is on top of the 16cm of accumulation from yesterday.
Due to the extremely cold temperatures, the city says the effectiveness of salt is limited and roads can remain slippery.
If you’re out shoveling, remember that under the Highway Traffic Act and City of Windsor By-laws, it’s against the law to shovel snow back onto the street while cleaning your sidewalks and driveways.
The city expects snowfall will taper off around 2:30pm this afternoon.
