Sixteen years ago, this month, Reena Virk was attacked and drowned beneath the Craigflower Bridge in British Columbia. She was a victim of extreme bullying and unfortunately, none of her peers had the courage to intervene and prevent the tragedy.
Based off the death of Virk, Walkerville Collegiate Institute students are performing their play, “My Daughter Veera” for all Grade 7 students at the Public Board. The play aims to show that it is everyone’s responsibility to combat bullying.
There will be a public performance of the play on Wednesday, November 27th at 7pm at Walkerville Collegiate Institute. The play is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
