The Downtown Windsor BIA is holding a contest to find one lucky kid that is going to ride alongside Santa in their parade that will be held on December 15th as part of the first annual Winter Fest.
The Sleigh Ride with Santa is open to area youth, aged 6 to 12, and everyone is welcome to participate for a chance to win other great prizes including gift certificates to downtown restaurants and places of business, concert tickets etc. Entries close on December 3rd and ballots are located in downtown businesses and at the DWBIA located at 474 Ouellette Avenue.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for one very lucky child, and we are excited to bring Winter Fest and the holiday parade to the downtown core,” Larry Horwitz, Board Chair for the DWBIA, said in the news release.
The parade will start at Ouellette and Giles and travelling north on Ouellette towards Riverside Drive. Other Winter Fest activities planned include horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers dressed in period costume, ice sculptures, lighting displays and more.
