The City of Windsor is set to ban quonset huts from all residential areas.
A quonset hut is a prefabricated structure that has a curved form and stright walls and takes up more then 10 square meters.
Theses have been poping up in some neighbourhoods, and last August Counculior Drew Dilkens asked for administration to look into a bylaw to restrict these. This came to light after one appeared on a residential property on McKay Avenue in South Windsor last summer.
The new bylaw which goes before the Planning Standing Committee Agenda on July 11th, will prohibit these from all residential districts. If there is one present beofre the bylaw is passed, it will be permitted, but no expansion or replacement is prohibited.
