South Walkerville’s second-biggest artery is now partially train-free.
The Howard / CP Rail underpass opened to the public on Saturday, but much work is yet to be done. Only one lane of traffic is open at the moment — a northbound lane, and southbound traffic is still using the detour route.
Work will continue until the new year on the pump building, lighting, and other lanes of traffic. The entire project should be finished in early 2011.
