Gas Line Struck At Fort Malden

A contractor working at Fort Malden hit a 2″ natural gas line around 9am Monday morning.

Fire crews evacuated homes across from and north of the scene while they waited for Union Gas to arrive.

Union Gas arrived on scene about half an hour after the line was struck and the flow of natural gas was shut off and the leak stopped.

Fire crews checked nearby homes to ensure there is no air quality issues before people were allowed to return.
