A Chatham-Kent police officer has received a prestigious award.

The ‘John Walker Award’ is an award presented annually to honour an individual who has served a member association of the Police Association of Ontario. This individual, through his or her actions, exemplify the qualities of leadership, devotion and sacrifice in the face of adversity as demonstrated by John Walker in his role as President of the Belleville Police Association.

Constable Pete Bakker has been an officer for 32 years. From 2000 to 2014 Pete was the President of the Chatham-Kent Police Association.

On May 1th8, 2016, Constable Bakker was presented the ‘John Walker Award’ while attending the PAO Annual General Meeting in Markham.
