Windsor’s second international writers’ conference takes place this May.

“We have been told by Writer’s Digest editors that the Windsor International Writers Conference is one of the more unique and creative writers conferences in North America,” says Pam Goldstein, founder of the conference and event chair. “We have also been told that we have the friendliest and liveliest writers’ conference around. Attendees have the chance to meet other writers as well as learn the craft and tricks of the trade, and how to edit and market themselves. We explore the ethics of writing and how to tell a great story, and we also examine writing for minorities and cultures.”

The Windsor International Writers Conference attracted 80 people in November 2014, half of whom were not from the region, and this year they are expecting 125 registrants.

“If you are a professional writer or journalist who wants to hone your skills, or you are a beginner writer, or you have a novel, a memoir, a book of poems, or anything that you want to see in print, then register, says Goldstein. “Our conference is an opportunity to be inspired by the best of the best in the business. Last year four attendees walked away with agents and now three have books published. Several more have since either found agents or have become self-published.”

More than 16 speakers and more than a dozen agents and publishers will be present at the conference, including Tracy Beckerman, syndicated humor columnist; award-winning author, editor and ghostwriter from Loveland, Colorado, Carol McAdoo Rehme; and well-known international agent, Michelle Johnson.

All conference activities will take place at the Holiday Inn Select, located at 1855 Huron Church Road. For a full list of speakers and/or to register, visit their website wi-wc.org.
