A two vehicle accident claimed a life in Chatham-Kent Saturday evening.

OPP say that the crash happened just before 6pm at the intersection of Highway 40 and Fairview Line.

For reasons unknown at this time, a Chrysler car traveling westbound on Fairview Line and a Pontiac minivan traveling northbound on Highway 40 collided.

The car was occupied by a male and a female. The minivan was also occupied by a male and a female.  All four occupants were transported to hospital, where the male driver of the car was pronounced deceased.

The female passenger of the car, and the male and female occupants of the minivan were listed as non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
