A local horror author has released his first short story collection.

Co-Published by Cranberry Tree Press, edited by acclaimed local writer Laurie Smith and inspired by horror literature spanning the past 100 years, The Space Between Houses is written by Christian Laforet, and features all-original stories that promise to leave readers peeking around corners and keeping the bedcovers pulled tight. The book of ten stories cover everything from psychological thrillers to splatter punk horror.

“This is just the beginning,” said Laforet. “I started this process with the goal of getting really great stories into the hands of readers and partnering up with other local authors to accomplish this goal.”

“The Space Between Houses is my foundation in the process of moving from writing novels as a dream and towards making it happen not only for myself but other writers like me.”

Laforet says that he became fascinated with horror after many childhood nights spent staring, with wide-eyed and “rapt attention,” at everything from Psycho to Dawn of the Dead.

Copies of The Space Between Houses are available for sale at Biblioasis, Border City Comics and Paper Heroes with more locations announced soon. E-copies will be available shortly and personalized copies available by contacting the author at www.christianlaforet.com.
