Eligible voters in the Town of Essex will start to receive their Vote by Mail kits this week and kits should be in everyone’s mailboxes by Wednesday, October 8th.

Each kit contains an instruction sheet, a voter declaration form, and a ballot, plus two envelopes – a white secrecy envelope in which to seal the completed ballot and an outer return envelope with prepaid postage that is used to send or deliver everything to Town Hall.

“If you don’t receive your Vote by Mail kit by October 8, please contact our office,” says Cheryl Bondy, Manager of Legislative Services (Clerk) and Chief Returning Officer.

It’s not too late to get on the Voters’ List. To find out if you’re already on the list or to change your contact information, call the Clerk’s Office at 519-776-7336 extension 1100, 1101 or 1132.

The Town will also hold two advanced polls:

Saturday, October 4th from  9am to 3pm  at the McGregor Community Centre, located at 9571 Walker Road.

Saturday, October 18th from 9am to 3pm at the  Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre, located at 243 McAffee Street.

To the advance polls, voters are reminded to bring their voters’ kits or the yellow return envelope containing the ballot in the ballot secrecy envelope together with the signed voter declaration form.

Completed voters’ kits may also be dropped off at Town Hall during regular business hours or deposited in the night deposit mail slot at Town Hall or in the drop box in front of the OPP Station in Harrow. Ballots will be accepted until 8pm on Election Day – October 27th.
