You know that summer has officially kicked off in Windsor-Essex when Art in the Park takes over historic Willistead Park in Old Walkerville.

The festival kicks off at the Spirit Tent with a Friday night launch party featuring Chantelle Denholm, the Mike Ure Band and Autumn Hill.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, 268 vendors and 35 first-time vendors will fill the 15 acre park.

“This year’s show [is] shaping up as one of our largest and best ever”, says co-chair Phil Cohen. “They’re coming to Willistead from all over Ontario and Quebec, from as far away as Atlanta, Georgia.”

As well, don’t forget to take a free tour of Willistead Manor and visit their “Events in the Manor.” All groups are local non-profits. They will be showcasing their programs, showing member art, offering some interactive activities and performances.

Art in the Park courtesy shuttles will run a continuous two-way schedule between both complimentary parking areas at the Hiram Walker & Sons employee parking lot (2072 Riverside Drive East at Montreuil Street), and the Windsor Regional Hospital employees’ shuttle lot (1591 Kildare Road just north of Tecumseh Road East).

The free shuttles will operate from 10am to 11pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

For show hours, admission cost and entertainment line up, check out the Windsor-Essex Summer Festival Guide.
