A comedy festival welcoming comics from Toronto, the US, and even Windsor, will be taking place in Downtown Windsor this December.

The First Annual Windsor Comedy Festival will be taking place at the Chrysler Theater on December 27th.

Organizers say the festival is the first of its kind and is planned to create “another world class event here in Windsor”.

Confirmed comics performing include Windsor’s Dave Merheje, winner of the Just For Laugh’s 2011 Homegrown Comic Award, Barry Taylor, K Trevor Wilson, Stephanie Tolev and Mark Debonis.

“We’re going to be a part of the positive momentum propelling our city forward,” says Shawn Talbot, organizer of the festival and former marketing chair of Art in the Park.

Tickets will range between $49 and $60 and pre-sale packages will be available soon.

Check out the festival’s facebook page for more info and to stay updated.
