A truck driver from Windsor was taken to the hospital after the rig he was driving swerved onto the wrong side of the highway and got stuck in the median.

OPP were called this morning around 8am and determined that a tractor-trailer that was travelling eastbound on the 401 Highway near Merlin Town Line. The rig crossed the median and drove eastbound in the westbound passing lane for approximately 1.5 kilometres.

The transport then drove back into the median and became stuck near Drake Sideroad in Chatham-Kent.

The driver, a 60 year old Windsor man, was taken to hospital by ambulance where he remains in stable condition.
