    Still hoping to find the source of the dreaded Windsor Hum? There’s now an App for that!

    A local web developer — who didn’t want to be named — has developed a web app that can be used on smartphones such as iPhones, Blackberries and Android OS devices along with location-aware desktop browsers to log a user’s location and report the data to a public map.

    The developer explains that the idea follows four steps:

    1. Bookmark and the App and use it when you hear the Hum
    2. The user’s “heard” GPS location is logged along with the time the user heard the Hum
    3. The site produces real-time maps of contributions including daily logging and month-to-date maps, and the developer plans to analyze the data to “find the proximity of the Windsor Hum
    4. The developer says “The site will evolve. I’m thinking I can capture the “level” of the sound and make markers a different colour where the Hum is really producing
