Attempts of the Canadian Blood Services to shore up the blood inventory levels last week heading into the Thanksgiving long weekend have not delivered the number of blood donors that are needed to replenish the national reserve, and now they are asking for help from Canadians who are eligible to donate.

Canadian Blood Services reports that to meet projected collections for the next six weeks, they will need more than 6,000 additional Canadians to book an appointment to donate blood.

While there is a continuous need for all blood types, Canadian Blood Services reports that currently across the country there is a greater need for blood donors with O, A and B negative blood.

In Windsor you can donate every day accept for Sundays at the Canadian Blood Services office locate at 3909 Grand Marais Road East.  For information on times check their website here.
