Essex Town Council has adopted a 2% tax increase.
The towns says that property tax revenues will increase 2%, while the residential mill rate will only increase by 1.5%.
“While Council has adopted the budget in principal, one more meeting is required to finalize the revenue sources for items added by Council at Monday’s meeting,” says Donna Hunter, Director of Corporate Services. “But this will not affect the overall tax increase of two percent.”
Final budget approval will be on the agenda for the April 20th meeting.
