The future of minivan production in Windsor will be revealed in the next two days, according to a report quoting Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne on AutoNews.com.
Marchionne told AutoNews that a decision whether or not to keep minivan production in Windsor has been made and the choice will be public in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Chrysler’s decision comes after the company merged with Fiat to form Fiat Chrysler Automotive, or FCA, and following reports that the company was looking for a multimillion dollar provincial and federal investment to help offset costs for retooling its operations in Windsor.
AutoNews’s report says Marchionne wants a level playing field for costs of production and the company is not looking for subsidies.
