VON Windsor-Essex is now offering an Adult Day Program to support those in our community who have physical or cognitive impairment and/or chronic health care needs.

The new program is suited for those who are in need of social, mental and physical stimulation to help rehabilitation, have care needs that exceed the traditional home care being offered in our community, or have a primary caregiver in need of daytime respite.

The program will offer activities designed to enhance individual abilities such as current event discussion, horticulture activities, music and pet therapy, SMART exercise program, baking and cooking as well as indoor and outdoor games and activities.

The cost is $15/day and includes hot lunch and all activities, and will take place inside Amy;s Helping Hands located at 6566 Hawthorne Drive Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Transportation can be purchased through Handi-Transit or Care Link.

For information regarding the program please call 519-944-7907. You may also call the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) at 519-258-8211. An assessment will be provided prior to admission to the program.

An Open House to learn more about the program will take place on Thursday, June 16th from 1pm to 3pm. Staff and volunteers will be available to give tours and answer questions.
