The Town of Essex wants to know what you think of 13 concept proposals for new playground equipment at a Harrow park.

At the Master Plan Open House scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre, concept drawings of the playground equipment will be on display and members of the community will be encouraged to rank their choices as part of the decision-making process. The designs will be on display from 5:30pm to 7pm.

“The park that will get this new equipment is adjacent to the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre,” says Doug Sweet, Director of Community Services.

“Council has been setting aside money for three years specifically for this project and a fixed budget of $200,000 has been approved.”

Equipment designs are required to be suitable for the 2- to-12-year-old age group and include modern features, accessible components and a rubberized ground surface.

The project will be awarded once community input is factored into the evaluations.

“One of the recommendations in our draft Master Plan is to continually upgrade our play structures,” says Sweet.
