Friday Snow Causes Many County Accidents

Essex County OPP say that they have responded to numerous weather related collisions on county roads Friday evening following a brief snow fall during the early evening hours.

They say that between 6pm and 8pm, they responded to 20 calls for collisions and vehicles sliding off the road and into ditches. Damage is reported as mostly minor and there are no reported injuries.

Police would like to again remind the public how important it is to monitor the weather as road conditions can deteriorate very quickly. Drivers are reminded to slow down and leave a safe distance between yourself and other vehicles.
