Two early morning fires on Wyandotte Street East have been ruled as arson.

Crews were called to the 1100 block of Wyandotte Street East in the alleyway behind a commercial property with apartments on top around 2am. A discarded piece of furniture had been set on fire which spread to the rear garage door.

Crews were called minutes later to a dumpster fire in the alleyway in the 1200 block of Wyandotte Street East. Some debris that was in a dumpster was set on fire. There was no damage to the building or surrounding area.

Both fires were deemed to be intentionally set and they are being treated as arsons.

Police would like to remind everyone to be aware of your property and any discarded items left nearby. Residents should take care to remove any discarded mattresses, chairs, or debris from alleyways that are in close proximity to any structure. Please report any suspicious persons or activities to police.
