The Ontario Provincial Police have concluded that there is no evidence to support a criminal investigation into Amherstburg’s financial woes.

On December 10th Amherstburg’s Chief of Police asked the OPP to conduct a review into potential criminal wrongdoing that had been uncovered within the municipal office in the Town of Amherstburg.

The OPP Anti-Rackets Branch were assigned and conducted a thorough review of the information regarding some financial processes used within the municipal office of the Town of Amherstburg.

The review determined that there is no evidence to support a criminal investigation.

The OPP says they will take no further action on the case.
