RIDE Program In LaSalle Results In One Licence Suspension

Friday evening, LaSalle police conducted several RIDE spot checks throughout the town.
In total, over 340 drivers were stopped and five drivers were subjected to roadside breath tests. As a result, one was issued three-day driver’s licence suspension.
Police say that many of the drivers spoken to claimed to be designated drivers ensuring that their passengers arrived home safe after attending Halloween parties.
Police also issued several cautions for traffic related infractions including misuse of seatbelts, burnt out headlights and driving with cell phones on their laps.
