Several streets in Tecumseh are flooded this morning after heavy rainfall overnight.
At least six cars were seen stranded along Lesperance Road. Tow trucks pulled two out of deep water while other drivers braved more than a foot of water on roadways around Little River Boulevard.
Town officials say Tecumseh has received approximately 140-150mm of rain (6 inches) since last night and that it’s the highest level on record for the Town.
Officials stress that emergency services need to concentrate their efforts on calls for service and not rescue attempts for vehicles stuck in water.
If you experience flooding in your residence, town officials ask you to contact your insurance company.
@OPP_WR is asking everyone to avoid driving if possible and do not speed through large pools of water.
