The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has declared an outbreak at St. Anne Catholic High School after receiving notification of an additional confirmed case of COVID-19 there.

As per provincial direction, a school outbreak is declared if there are two or more cases in a school and if there is evidence that at least one case could have been infected in the school.

This outbreak is currently limited to one of the two classes that was already dismissed on September 13th. The school board says the principal has already contacted students in the affected cohort to inform them about the situation and to provide additional instructions from the health unit for them to follow.

School board communications coordinator Stephen Fields says there are no further dismissals required at this time and the school remains open.
