My Daughter Vera is an adaptation of the award winning production, “The Holding Room”, written and staged by students from Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts. The play is based on the tragic story of B.C. teenager Reena Virk who was beaten to death by a group of young people she knew. The play aims to show that it is everyone’s responsibility to combat bullying.
The play has been viewed by hundreds of Greater Essex School Board students, and now Walkerville now wants to share the message with a wider audience.
WCI students will hold a public showing of the play tonight, Wednesday March 21st at 7pm at the Walkerville Collegiate Institute auditorium, 2100 Richmond.
