Following its Commissioning Ceremony in the United States, the USS Detroit will set sail to the City of Windsor, next Monday October 24th. This will be its first International Port-of-Call.

A welcome ceremony is planned for Dieppe Gardens at noon on Monday, October 24th.

The ceremony will include Mayor Drew Dilkens, H.M.C.S. Hunter, Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment, Local Veterans, Windsor Port Authority and special guests to help welcome the USS Detroit (LCS 7) and her crew to the City of Windsor.

The event features a reading from Windsor’s Poet Laureate, Marty Gervais, a performance by the Windsor Regiment Band, and a First Nations welcome.

There will be no public tours scheduled for the Windsor visit.
