Major reconstruction of one of South Windsor’s busiest intersections is set to begin in a few weeks.

The intersection of Cabana and Provincial will be redesigned, have new water mains and sewers installed and will feature dedicated dual-left turn lanes (southbound Provincial), a dedicated right turning lane (southbound Provincial), and dual straight-lanes in all directions.

Construction crews are presently realigning gas lines in the area in preparation for full construction to begin. Coco Paving will undertake construction at a cost of $7.6 million — detours are still being finalized.
