Demolition of former University of Windsor residence building Cody Hall is into the final clean up and excavation stages.
Built in 1961 in the “mid century modern” style, and designed by renowned Windsor architectural firm Johnson and McWhinnie, Cody Hall had fallen into severe disrepair after being discontinued from an operating dorm facility in 2005.
Demolition started in mid to late May. The site will be converted to a temporary parking lot to make up for lost parking space while the University’s new Parking Garage and Innovation Centre is constructed. After that, it will be converted to green space.
