Green fencing is covering up the location for the new Downtown Windsor Family Aquatic Complex on the Western Super Anchor site and work is moving into high gear for the spring construction season.
Construction of the aquatic facility is planned to progress in time for the International Children’s Games in August 2013.
Seventeen thousand linear feet of fencing will enclose the 144,000-square-foot pool complex. Work has begun on tearing up asphalt along Chatham and Pitt Streets and former City of Windsor parking lots which the pool site will occupy. This week, construction crews began digging foundation and basement for the complex and continued to remove parts of the parking lot.
