The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at ten more public schools in Windsor-Essex from the last two days.

The board is reporting:

  • one additional case in a student at Anderdon Public School on December 1st
  • one case in a student at Dr. David Suzuki Public School on December 1st
  • one case in a student at Gosfield North Public School on December 1st
  • one case in a student at Kingsville District High School on December 1st
  • one additional case in a staff member at Margaret D. Bennie Public School on December 2nd
  • one case in a student at Vincent Massey Secondary School on December 1st
  • one case in a student at David Maxwell Public School on November 30th
  • one additional case in a student at Queen Elizabeth Public School on December 1st
  • one case in a student at Tecumseh Vista Academy – Elementary on December 1st
  • six cases in students at Tecumseh Vista Academy – Secondary on December 1st

Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.

The board sent letters to the Anderdon Public school community, the Dr. David Suzuki school community, the Gosfield North school community, the Kingsville District school community, the Margaret D. Bennie school community, the Massey Secondary school community, the David Maxwell school community, the Queen Elizabeth school community, the Tecumseh Vista Academy – Elementary school community, and the Tecumseh Vista Academy – Secondary school community.

“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.
