The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at six more schools in Windsor-Essex.
The board is reporting:
- one case in a student at Colchester North Public School on November 21st
- one case in a student at Herman Academy – Elementary School on November 20th
- one case in a staff member at King Edward Public School on November 22nd
- one additional case in a student at Queen Elizabeth Public School on November 22nd
- one additional case in a student at Sandwich West Public School on November 20th
- one case in a student at Western Secondary School on November 19th
Note: With the public board there is sometimes a delay of several days between the confirmation of a case and the public reporting of that case.
Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.
The board sent letters to the Colchester North school community, the Herman school community, the King Edward school community, the Queen Elizabeth school community, the Sandwich West school community, and the Western school community.
“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.
