The annual Ford Fireworks will once again be a made-for-TV event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They will take place on June 28th on Detroit’s WDIV Local 4 and will not be over the Detroit River.
Tony Michaels, the CEO of the Parade Company, and Pamela Alexander, Ford’s Director of Community Engagement and Corporate Philanthropy, announced on Monday.
“We are proud to bring the Ford Fireworks to our community in a very special way,” Micheals said on a Facebook post. “We have an unwavering commitment to this tradition, which has brought us together as one for over six decades. We are grateful for our many amazing partners who are joining efforts to make this possible, including Ford, WDIV Local 4 and Huron-Clinton Metroparks, who have stepped up as a good neighbour in a very big way.”
This is the second year they will be on TV only. The show in 2020 took place on Monday, August 31st, 2020.
