Border City Living To Host First-Ever Community Event In Newly Renovated Ford City Building In Support Of Welcome Centre

This Sunday,  Border City living will be hosting their first community event in their new headquarters, at the recently renovated Dry Goods buildings.

The Ambassadors’ Brunch will benefit the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Families and kick off their 30th year of service.

“It’s exciting to see new faces getting involved and supporting the organization,” said Lady Laforet, Executive Director of the Welcome Centre. “Guests will learn more about the unique services that the Welcome Centre offers the region and hear from Natalie, a woman with lived shelter experience who now sits on the centre’s board of directors.”

Tickets are $30 and includes a hot breakfast with vegan/vegetarian options, a Tea and Coffee Bar by GreenBean Cafe, and Parfait Bar by the Squirrel Cage.

A donation-driven boutique will be on site where guests can ‘shop’ for the specific types of donations needed for women and families during 2020, starting at just $3. All proceeds will support the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Families.

Guests will be some of the first to preview the renovations and rehabilitation of the Dry Goods Building in Ford City. For decades operating as Morris Dry Goods, a shop dealing in uniforms, textiles, and sundries, then vacant through years of decline, the huge display windows have been opened to the interior and will showcase a collective of urban-minded businesses including Border City Living real estate & development group, graphic designer Tia Hughes and architecture startup, Mean Studio.
