The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 4 additional cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the local total to 920. They said 490 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 916 on Tuesday May 26th to 920 on Wednesday May 27th.
Health Unit CEO Theresa Marentette says 1 of the 4 new cases reported Wednesday is a person working in the agri-farm sector.
The Health Unit says there have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Wednesday and the local death toll stands at 63.
The Health Unit says there are ongoing outbreaks at two long-term care and retirement facilities:
- Chartwell Royal Oak
- Heron Terrace
The Health Unit says 16,080 total tests have been conducted since testing began locally and 1,084 tests are pending as of Wednesday.
