Highway 3 Widening Listed In Ontario’s New Transportation Plan

The widening of Highway 3 is once again being talked about by the Ontario Government.
The project is part of 42 goals in the new draft plan released by the Government of Ontario Friday to improve transportation in Southwestern Ontario.
“People in southwestern Ontario deserve access to a safe and reliable transportation network that gets them to where they need to go,” said Caroline Mulroney, Minister of Transportation.
The plan calls for doubling the lanes between the Town of Essex and Leamington to improve safety, reduce congestion and create additional economic opportunities for residents and businesses.
As many as 17,300 vehicles travel between Essex and Leamington each day.
