The Congress for the New Urbanism is hosting a Road Diet on Riverside Drive between Ouellette Avenue and Goyeau Street on June 11th.
The purpose of a Road Diet is to temporarily reduce the width of the roadway in order to increase the efficiency of the traffic flow.
They plan to use the lanes that will be closed to host an art show and demonstrate the riverfront’s capacity to be “an engaging and vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.”
Organizers are inviting local artists and crafters to display their talents in a free 10′ x 10′ booth/exhibit.
The event will run from 8am to 2pm. Space is limited to 20 booths/exhibitors. If you are interested in participating, contact Matthew at [email protected] by May 18th.
