Major Upgrades Planned For Popular South Windsor Library

South Windsor’s popular Budimir Library is about to undergo a expansion and renovation.
An addition of approximately 6,000 square feet will be built onto the existing building on Grand Marais Road West. The expansion will include a children’s area, a new teen area, an expanded internet cafe and more space for the 50,000 volume collection.
In addition, the parking lot will be reconfigured on the existing site, the main entrance will be relocated near the parking lot, and the existing front entrance will be repurposed.
A drive thru drop off and pick up service window will also be constructed.
The total estimated cost is $2,217,000.
It is estimated that design and tender work will be completed by the end of this year with construction starting in January 2016. Completion of the expansion and renovations is set for January 2017.
