It was a practice day for most at the 2013 International Children’s Games, but for Tennis and Baseball, the competition got going today.
Tennis:
In Tennis, on the girls side, Silvia Verebes from Team Windsor-Essex won her match (6-1, 6-2).
Other early round winners so far are Manita Bootsarakomvisit (THA), Pai Ya Yun (TWN), Maja Venguist (SVN), Abigail Desiatnikov (USA), Magan Head (USA), Anastasiya Samoylona (UKR) and Hana Simonic (SVN).
For boys, Windsor’s Michael Young also won (6-0, 6-0).
Other early round winners include Michail Psariadis (GRC), Dominic Divos (HUN), Jakob Zalenki (USA), Nicholas Lochrin (AUS), Amadej Gorucan (SVN), Andras Szabo (HUN), Wen Yun-Rue (TWN).
Tennis continues Friday.
Baseball:
Team Windsor-Essex picked up its first win beating Detroit 3 to 2.
