The 401 is open again after being closed for several hours this morning.
Around 4:30 this morning Chatham-Kent OPP were called to a collision on eastbound Highway 401 in the area of Queens Line.
For reasons unknown at this time, two tractor trailers collided and ended up on the embankment of the Queens Line overpass. No injuries were reported. The Ministry of the Environment was called to assist with a diesel fuel leak from one of the trucks.
Police say that in order to remove the tractor-trailer units, the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 will have to be closed down. Eastbound traffic will be re-routed onto the Emergency Detour Route at Essex County Road 42 and will have access to enter back onto eastbound Highway 401 at Queens Line in Chatham-Kent.
