The Room Nightclub (255 Ouellette Ave.) was packed on Friday, November 4 when Windsor-Detroit’s alternative radio station, 89X, presented a free show featuring Toronto’s KO.
Fusing together reggae, hip-hop, and folk, KO’s sound is unique and makes for a fantastic, high-energy show.
In addition to his hit single “Capable”, there were a number of songs, including “Kurt Kobain” and “Let’s Blaze” that got the crowd singing along.
The show was opened by Windsor’s most popular hip-hop group, Mic Lordz and Sauce Funky, who played an acoustic set featuring originals and covers. Members of the crowd previously unfamiliar with this band were quickly won over as the enthusiastic performance of their first song, “Gin and Juice” drew to a close.
