Home of the former Stumble Inn and The Mill, Old Sandwich Towne welcomed the Barrel House Draught Co. & Grill in August of 2013.
While keeping a rustic, nostalgic feel with a touch of modern decor, the Barrel House focuses on their love of local craft beers, their summer patio, and eccentric menu. Included in the cuisine is their signature Barrel House burger, as well as more market-fresh daily choices, having Blak’s Bakery supply all their breads.
Aron Godfrey, one of the co-owners next to Mark Boulay, has been in the service industry and bar-tending for as long as he can remember, even co-owning places like Abars on the River. “I studied History in university, and even taught in Australia. I just learned to cook on the fly, and here I am,” says Godfrey.
The outlet provides live entertainment, as well as karaoke on Friday nights. Godfrey reassured “One of the first questions asked by consumers when we opened was ‘Is karaoke still going to happen?!’ It was something that dated back before the Mill was even here, of course we had to keep it.”
Teaming up with the fellow bars and restaurants in the area, the Barrel House gets involved with festivals like the Sandwich Festival (coming in September of this year.) “We’re no competition, and we make it a group effort to help each other out.”
The Barrel House Draught Co. & Grill is located at 3199 Sandwich Street, and are open Monday through Sunday from 11am until 2am.
