WHAT

The University of Windsor Lab School Music Program, in connection to the School of Creative Arts, and the Department of Continuing Education, is proud to offer a FREE try-it-out ensemble class for young string musicians, aged 4-17, on February 22nd, from 2-4 pm. The class will be broken up into two time slots based on you child’s musical experience. We invite you to attend the session that best matches your child’s expertise. Beginner: 2pm – 3pm Intermediate: 3pm-4pm Students are welcome to play any of the following instruments in our ensemble: violin, viola, cello, or string bass. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments to the session. Alternatively, there will be a limited number of violins available to borrow on-site. Please reach out to [email protected] if your child/children will require a violin. This free try-it-out day will transition into our full Winter Strings ensemble, which will run from February 22nd to June 14th, every other Saturday. Students will be grouped based on age and skill level, and will participate in 10 group lessons. The program will conclude in June with a final recital in front of friends and family. Interested students are invited to come try out the program, and then register before February 27th, if they wish to continue for the full session. For more details on the program, as well as the exact dates, we encourage you to visit our course page.
