The Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts at Walkerville Collegiate Institute will be doing a 6 show run of The Addams Family, A Musical Comedy. It is the first musical to be performed at Walkerville since COVID. The show will run on April 14th & 15th at 7 pm, the 16th at 2 pm, and April 20th, 22nd, & 23rd at 7 pm. It is a fantastic collaboration between many of the departments in the school and also within the board, as students from W.F. Herman High school will be working on set construction. The school is also inviting grade schools from around Windsor-Essex County to attend a free excerpt of the show and participate in a Q&A session with the cast and crew. The play talks about what it means to be “normal” and encourages the audience to embrace the wonderful differences that we all have. The musical comedy tells the story of Wednesday Addams and her “normal” fiance while highlighting the struggle to understand or define what normal is. In the post-pandemic era of the “new normal”‘ there could not be a better pick for a musical.
